CEDAPS is an non profit who serves the most vulnerable youth living in the favellas of Rio de Janeiro. Providing them with resources and education to lead a productive life is the mission. Though hundreds of young people had been reached by CEDAPS since it began in 1993, the team was passionate about reaching many more.

“I met Krissy at Rice University, where I was leading a youth program in Rio de Janeiro for young people who are neither studying nor working. Krissy, as part of the postgraduate team, helped us craft a strategic plan to expand the program and reach more individuals. Ultimately, CEDAPS moved forward with the recommendation to partner with international nonprofits who have global reach and can share resources. This allows for more young people living in the Rio favellas to be positively impacted by CEDAPS programming. These new partnerships include: United Way Brazil, Aspen Institute-Global Opportunity Youth Network, Prudential and Obama Foundation.
